Welcome to our Basic Horsemanship Course

During the summer months we run a very popular Basic Horsemanship Course. It is a five-day course that runs from 8:30 AM to noon each day. Each course is limited to 12 students. Each day, there is one hour of mounted instruction and one hour of instruction on the ground. Students learn skills such as handling, saddling, bridling, grooming, etc. Once basic skills are developed, students may progress to more advanced subjects such as trailer loading, how to give medications and shots, etc. The morning ends with one hour of swimming and a snack at the pool side, guaranteed to send you home happy.

Each student is provided with an instructional manual to take home, and tests are given on the last day. The levels of instruction include "BASIC" for the beginner, "INTERMEDIATE" for students who can pass or have passed the "BASIC" test, and the "ADVANCED" level is tailored for students who own or are ready to own a horse. The five day course is reasonably priced at $275.00. There is a non-refundable $75 deposit required to register. The summer courses are June (14-18), June (21-25) and July (12-15) 2010.
